Commenting on the plans First Aberdeen bus drivers have put in place for industrial action following the ballot result last week, North East Labour MSP Lewis Macdonald said:
“The onus now lies clearly with the management of First Aberdeen to get back round the table and avoid the disruption that the industrial action would cause.
“The company have unilaterally imposed changes to terms and conditions which means their most loyal and long serving drivers will be forced to do more while being paid less.
“The bus drivers feel they have been left with no alternative. "The fact that 95% of drivers voted for strike action shows just how strongly they feel about the impact of these imposed changes.
“Unite have stated clearly that they are still willing to get round the table to try and find a way forward, but the ball is now firmly in the management's court.”
